for everyone
Was just catching up with some news on the NST website... 'Who loves ya, baby...' caught my attention...

It's discussing the topic of couple getting married, but not wanting to have children... They interview various married couples without children and get their reasons for not having kids... Well, that's not the thing that capture my attention... But at the bottom of the article, this is what one of them said..

“It annoys me when they say things like ‘What are you keeping your money for’ or ‘Who is going to take care of you in your old age?’”

“If that is the reason for having kids — to take care of you in your old age — I think it’s totally selfish. It’s unfair to expect your children to take care of you in your old age. They did not ask to be born into this world, so why put that burden on them?”

Wah... Quite a shock for me though... Having kids so that they might look after us in the future... Isn't that what a child is suppose to do... To look after their mummy and daddy... How should it then be consider selfish and a burden?

Well, it's just my personal opinion... For the full article, do check out the link below:

Interesting. Then why do you think people have children? Why would you have children?

one thing i learn in humanities is having different perception, yes, ask WHY.

i just put myself in the person's shoes who said that, and i thought.. Maybe what he/she meant was: reason of having kids is to take care of her/himself in old age. Just LITERALLY. It's like factory for labor i guess.

I would think yes, we children have to look after our mummy and daddy, they have done so much for us for too long (and it's written in the bible *hehe*) But, i think i'm not born to look after my mummy and daddy. :)
